process of making a cake

Review

So far in this blog asignment I have Looked at some interesting blog's in mostly first year design all ranging from different stances on design .All students had a different passion for design and communicated there look on design and also there prefered fields of design .Looking at other students and also other design related blogs its obvious to see that there is a wide range of design .Some shared the passion in grafitti design to Industrial design in the form of fluid designs .My blog on the other hand and also other blogs I recomemded was a stance of Interior design because I intend to branch off into interior architecture next year .I hope that I have given you enough material to share the same outllok of design we all have in first year.

For my first post I decided to put up a picture of my first 104 project which projected a Interior feel to it .Other Bloggers in first year design also decided post this project aswell such as Kahli Jenkins http://kahlijenkins.blogspot.com/ .She commented on my chosen design blogs "Hey SimonGreat blog!!you have selected some great sites :)Design spunge looks like a great site.Keep up the great work" .This was good to show other design syudents who were in the same design field as me .

first entry

Design 104 is an introduction into computers for first year design students at Victoria University. As you can see my name is Simon and as you might of guessed I'm a first year design student at Vic.The paper 104 acted as intro for computer design processes for my desired major of Interior Architecture. My first project was to create two rooms and a corridor in a computer game called Unreal Tournament ,and this was done using the programme unreal tournament editor .The purpose of this first project was to create two contrasting rooms ,one which portrayed a normal feel and another room that portrayed a mutant feel. There was a number of different precedents ranging from architects ,lanscape architects and sculptors to inspire our ideas for our level. My chosen precedent was Michael heizer who is large-scale sculptor and a land artist .Therfor my final level design had a Michael Heizer feel and my chosen normal and mutant theme's were of art pieces of Mona-lisa and picasso's "sitting Lady".The final outcome of this project was to challenge and develop the Interior architecture majoror's with the neccesary skills for further years.
